It’s good to keep the mind and imagination active and ready to receive.”-Samantha Crain
For our first event of the year, we welcome back Kipaipai!
Next month we look forward to hosting this special program for the 3rd January running! Kipaipai aids artist in networking by focusing on the professional practice of artists in areas of gallery representation, museum exhibitions and self promotion.
One Kipaipai community member shares her take on the workshop
“The Kipaipai experience...I feel like I gained an instant art family, guidance, love, inspiration, a cheering section, feedback from peers, advice and help from faculty, new friends... and a lot of fun bonding”.
Kipaipai, meaning 'To Encourage and Inspire,' is a special program that offers support within a dynamic, trusted artist community with “the hard stuff” a.k.a self-promotion and for working artists, it can be the hardest part. The importance of relevant critical writing, presentation, and identifying and strategizing personal/professional goals are requirements that Do Not Quit.
The Kipaipai faculty helps participants immediately build their professional network through community and organic connections based on relationships and shared resources and the workshops are a lot of fun.
We are looking forward to hosting another memorable workshop at Willow Pond Retreat, the group will enjoy delicious daily breakfast and lunch buffets catered by the phenomenal Karen Hutchison from Healing Harvest as well as optional evening activities. Through private one-on-one sessions and group meetings, students will have the rare opportunity to meet with a team of guest professionals and gain counsel and much needed space to gather, brainstorm and reflect on their goals and strategy.
Here at Willow Pond, we are getting all the little arrangements in place to host this group again post holidays and kick off the year feeling energized. More to come next month on what we get up to.
